Join Us for the 2025 Grandfather Mountain Highland Games —July 10-13, 2025.
Message from GMHG:
We at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games are fielding questions several times a week from all over the country as to the ability of our area to support the 2025 Highland Games in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The answer is a resounding yes! Our roads and bridges are now in good shape, and area lodging and restaurants are definitely open for business.
The storm damage was extensive to be sure, but the degree of repair in the six months following the hurricane has been amazing. Things are now at the place where those attending the 2025 Games will find the North Carolina High Country much like we were for the 2024 Games.
We are really looking forward to seeing you “on the Mountain!”
The Matheson Clan Society was established to bring together individuals from around the world who share the same Scottish Highland heritage. Through our regional branch and international events and gatherings, we have brought many of our kinsmen together. Members have access to a wealth of information, enabling them to research their genealogy or become involved in the DNA project. In addition they receive a copy of our annual Clan Newsletter and are able to contact other members worldwide as well as join our gatherings. The Clan is made up of several Branches located in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States that span several continents.
